identification: Large and round conic, The yellow-skinned apple is almost completely covered with a dark carmine flush and stripes. Skin has a chalky bloom at harvest.
characteristics: The flesh is white, fine-textured, firm and crisp. Juicy, quite astringent with strawberry flavours.
origins: Cox’s Orange Pippin x Worcester Pearmain , Laxton Brothers Ltd., Bedford (U.K.). Introduced, 1934.
cultivation: Hardy and moderately vigorous.
