identification: Small, cylindrical and round, with flattened ends . The base colour is yellow washed bright red and marked with darker stripes which fade out toward the shaded face. The calyx is small and partly open, set in a shallow and somewhat narrow basin. The stem is very short and medium thick, set in a shallow and narrow cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is greenish white, crisp. Juicy and sweet with a honeyed flavour.

Jonathan . Introduced in 1948.
