characteristics: The flesh is deep red, fine grained and crisp. Juicy with a balanced sweet-tart berry flavour. Resists browning when exposed to air.
uses: Appreciated as a fresh-eating apple for its balanced tartness and sweetness, but also useful for baking, jellies and juice.
origins: Bred by Markus Kobelt, owner of Lubera Nurseries of Buchs, Kanton St. Gallen in the Upper Rhine Valley of Switzerland. (
