identification: Medium to large, round conic, faintly ribbed. Skin base colour is green yellow over which are dark red blushes or stripes on the sun exposed face. Some russeting.
characteristics: Flesh is creamy yellow, fine-grained, firm and juicy. Mildly tart.
uses: Great for eating fresh. Makes excellent pies. Often used to provide tartness to apple cider.
origins: Developed by A. C. Crowe at the Agricultural Research Station in Kentville, Nova Scotia (Canada) in an effort to produce a more disease-resistant Northern Spy.

Golden Delicious ) were cross-pollinated to produce this cultivar. Released 1986.
cultivation: Hardy, moderately vigorous, upright spreading, somewhat weepy growth. Partial tip bearer. Starts to bear fruit within three years. are not heavy but annual.
cold storage: Keeps four months.
vulnerabilities: Resistant to mildew and scab, susceptible to rust.
harvest: Ripens in the middle of the fifth period.
ploidism: Diploid. Self sterile.
