identification: Small tending to medium size, round conic, often ribbed on the faces. The base colour is yellow, washed red over the sun-exposed surface. Light russet in the stem cavity. Marked with light tan lenticels. The calyx is small, closed and set in an very shallow, pleated basin. The stem is long and somewhat slender, set in a medium deep, funnel-shaped cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is cream-coloured, fine-grained, soft and sweet.
origins: Developed in 1931 at the Aomori Apple Experiment Station, Japan, by crossing Ralls' Genet with McIntosh . Released in 1948.
cultivation: Vigorous.
