summary: Found as a single bud mutation of Kidd's D-8 at Matamata (New Zealand) in 1969 by Ten Hove and Hendrick Willem and selected for its more uniform and deeper red skin colour which made it far more marketable. It has a bright red wash over which are wide and dark stripes.
