summary: A small, though vigorous tree with bright pink flowers and intense, red-fleshed fruit.
identification: Small, tending to medium size, high cylindrical, somewhat egg-shaped. Red skin marked with a few widely scattered, pinpoint, tan-coloured lenticels. The stem is moderately slender and long, extending higher than the russeted shoulder. Develops a pink, waxy, pale-grayish coat on the skin as it matures.
characteristics: The flesh is red, soft-grained. Juicy and tart with a distinct lemon flavour. Hint of bitterness. The flesh browns quickly when exposed to air.
origins: Introduced by Bill Schultz of Oregon (U.S.A.). Likely descended from Surprise (Veitch) @6223 .
