identification: Small to medium size. Round and lightly ribbed. The base colour is yellow over which the surface is washed red with a dense pattern of pale purple stripes, Lenticels are abundant, small, light-coloured and dimpled. Ripens to a smooth, non-greasy feel. The stem is medium to long and slender, set in a moderately deep, funnel shaped and russetted cavity. The calyx is medium size, partly open and set in a shallow, lightly ribbed basin.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, fine-grained, somewhat firm and crisp. Juicy, moderately sweet, lightly tart and with a pleasant aroma.
uses: Dessert and commercial juice production.
origins: Developed by the Institut für Obstforschung Dresden-Pillnitz (Germany) by crossing
Clivia with pollen from 13-9-44,14 (a scab-resistant seedling of Malus floribunda). Released in 1996, it is one of 17 Re-cultivars (known as ReZista in North America) developed as part of this programme.
cultivation: Weakly vigorous, spreading. Precocious and produces heavy harvests. Tends to set heavy bloom and needs to be aggressively thinned at fruit set. Blossoms are somewhat frost sensitive. Produces regular, heavy crops. Tolerates Hardiness Zones 4 to 8.
cold storage: Up to three months. The temperature in the store room should not drop below 2 degrees Celsius.
vulnerabilities: Resistant to scab and canker, but susceptible to blight and mildew.

notes: Very similar to Jonathan in many respects.
