type: Culinary, Dessert, Pie
identification: Medium size but can reach large size. Slightly oblate. The base colour is creamy yellow with a pink blush on the sun exposed face. The stem is medium stout and short, set in a deep cavity. The calyx is small and closed, set in a shallow and somewhat narrow basin.
characteristics: The flesh is fine-grained, crisp, somewhat sweet and very juicy. Resists browning when exposed to air.
origins: Developed by Rick Sawatsky at the University of Saskatchewan (Canada) from a cross of 17c-23-33 with pollen from Goodland . COPF introduction. Introduced by Rick Sawatzky in 1999.
cultivation: A moderately vigorous, semi-dwarf tree on its own roots. Spherically topped growth habit. Precoious. Bears fruit on spurs and tips of new wood. Wide angled branching requires thinning.
cold storage: Keeps up to a month and a half.
vulnerabilities: Somewhat susceptible to fire blight.
harvest: Ready for harvest early in the fourth period.
ploidism: Diploid. Self sterile.
