identification: Medium tending to large size. Round to somewhat conic. The base colour is greenish yellow over which is a dark red wash with dense stripes on the sun exposed face. The calyx is medium size and open set in a fairly narrow and shallow basin.
characteristics: The flesh is white, crisp, juicy and tender. Sweet sharp.
uses: Wonderful dessert apple also makes an excellent aromatic sauce.
origins: Open-pollinated seedling of
Patten , developed in Manitoba (Canada), released in 1940s
