summary: A red club apple developed In Belgium for the supermarket trade. Large, very juicy and very sweet.
identification: Medium tending to large, round. Base color is greenish yellow almost completely washed bright red and marked with small, light-coloured lenticels. The stem is long and slender set in a deep and narrow cavity. The calyx partly closed and set in a narrow basin. Tough skin.
characteristics: The flesh is cream-coloured, firm, crisp and dense. Very juicy, sweet and sprightly. Aromatic with hints of aniseed.
origins: A Golden Delicious crossed with pollen from NY75413-30 developed in 1990 by Inge De Wit, Hendrik Eyssen, Johan Keulemans, Johan Nicolaï, and Paul Van Laer at Heverlee (Belgium) for Better3Fruit.
cultivation: Vigorous, spreading growth habit. Bears fruit on spurs. A slight tendency to bear in alternate years. Can tolerate dry conditions.
