identification: Medium size, round with some ribbing on the faces and crowned around the calyx basin. The calyx basin is medium in size and set in a rather shallow basin. The base colour is yellow, over which is a red blush marked with a faint pattern of wide reddish striping. Russet patches around and in the calyx basin. Scattered medium size lenticels. The stem is moderately long and stout, set in a moderately deep and wide cavity. The basin is medium wide and deep.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish. Firm. Browns within an hour of being exposed to air.
origins: Developed by Charles G. Embree at the Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada station in Kentville, Nova Scotia (Canada) in 1975. A cross of S28-18-36 with pollen from
Splendour .
cultivation: Vigorous, upright growing habit. Bears fruit on spurs and shoots.
vulnerabilities: Moderately resistant to scab.
