summary: A multipurpose apple that was bred in Canada for excellent cold hardiness. Sweet and crisp when first picked and lasts a good while in storage.
identification: Medium tending to medium-large size and round to round-conic. Base colour is greenish yellow maturing to pale yellow over which is a pink, often red-striped wash marked with abundant light-coloured lenticels. The calyx is medium large, partly open and set in a shallow, wide basin. The stem is long and slender, set in a narrow and somewhat shall cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is cream-coloured. Crisp. Juicy and moderately sweet with just a hint of tartness.
origins: Bred by Art Coutts of Unity, Saskatchewan (Canada), by crossing Norland with pollen from Minnesota 90 . Introduced by Jeffries Nurseries.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Upright spreading tree grows to about 10 metres on its own roots. Precocious.
