identification: Medium size tending to large. Round conic with distinctly ribbed faces. The base colour is greenish yellow over which are flushes of red on the sun exposed face. Waxy.
characteristics: The flesh is greenish, soft and fine-grained. Sweet, slightly acidic and mildly fruity.
origins: Wagener crossed with pollen from Esopus Spitzenburg , developed by Leif Verner at the Idaho Agriculture Experiment Station, Moscow, Idaho (U.S.A.). Selected in 1939 and introduced in 1944.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Spur bearer. Produces annual crops. Holds well at harvest.
