summary: An off-shoot of the Bedfordshire Foundling developed by Alfred Etter and renamed Bedfordshire Junior. Please see Alaska by which name it is now known.
origins: Thought to be a seedling of the Bedfordshire Foundling which had been developed and renamed by California apple breeder Albert Etter in the early 1940s. It was patented as Alaska in 1944 and further renamed as Alaska in 1946.
