identification: Medium size, Oblate to oblong. The skin base colour is greenish yellow washed dark red, sometime maroon on the sun exposed face, fading to reddish stripes. the eye is small and closed, set in a deep and moderately wide basin which is surrounded by an irregularly knobbed crown. The stem is short and somewhat stout set in a deep and narrow cavity, often with a fleshy swelling to one side.
