Woolbrook Russet

identification: Large, round with flattened ends. Marked with russet lenticels which are raised, giving the otherwise smooth surface a rough feel. The skin is green and washedbrownish red on the sun exposed face. The eye is medium to large and partly open, set in a shallow and wide basin. The stem is short, slender and set in a medium deep, funnel shaped cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is greenish white, coarse grained. Juicy and sweet?tart mellowing in storage. .

cultivation: Moderately vigorous, upright spreading tree. Bears fruit on spurs. Ready for harvest in the second half of the second period. Resistant to scab.
cold storage: Keeps up to two months in cold storage.
