summary: A large, hardy Polish apple variety bred for its resistance to scab. Produces heavy mid-season crops of large apples.
identification: Fruit varies from large to very large. Round-flattened and lightly ribbed. Base colour is greenish yellow over which is a red wash with darker striping covering about one half the surface. Marked with scattered greyish lenticels, often surrounded with reddish border.
characteristics: The flesh is cream-coloured. Very juicy, aromatic and sweet-tart.
origins: Developed in 1975 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences by Aleksander Rejman and Emilian Pitera from a cross of Fantazja x Primula. Selected in 1983.
cultivation: Vigorous. Spreading crown. Precocious. Produces heavy crops on a biennial basis. Best grown on dwarfing root stock.
cold storage: Keeps up to two months in cold storage.
vulnerabilities: Resistant to scab. Somewhat susceptible to mildew. Prone to bitter blotch.
harvest: Ready for harvest starting in the middle of the fourth period.
