identification: Medium size. Yellow, washed pink on the sun exposed face, smooth.
characteristics: The flesh is white, crisp and juicy. Distinctively flavoured.
uses: A wonderful eating apple but it attains its peak flavour only after a few months in storage.
origins: Developed around 1976 by George Oberle at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia (U.S.A.). It is a cross of Newtown Pippin and Golden Delicious, with a flavor characteristic of Newtown Pippin .
