type: Eating
identification: Medium to large, round and somewhat conic. The skin base colour is greenish yellow two-thirds to full washed with a deep, almost purple red. When the base colour does show through on the shaded side, it is usually striped red.
characteristics: Flesh is cream coloured with a faint green tinge. Somewhat coarse-grained, firm and crisp. Moderately juicy, slightly tart.
uses: Fresh eating, baking.
origins: Developed at Agriculture Canada's Smithfield Experimental Farm in Trenton, Ontario (Canada) by crossing McIntosh with pollen from R18T40 (Jonatham x (Rome Beauty x Malus floribunda 821)). Introduced in 1979.
cultivation: Vigorous.

vulnerabilities: Resistant to scab and blight, somewhat susceptible to mildew and rust, very susceptible to quince rust.
