identification: Buds are deep red, sometime maroon. The flowers open deep pink with a white star at the base. The fruit is small, deep red.
origins: Developed by Isabella Preston in 1920 at Canada's Department of Agriculture's Central Experimental Farm from a cross of Malus pumila niedzwetzkyana and Malus baccata. Named for Temiskaming Lake in western Quebec and released in 1930.
