Surprise (Etter)
synonyms: Note that the Landsberger Reinette is also sometimes refered to as Surprise. There is also a British variety named Surprise. The name Surprise is actually used to refer to many chance seedlings, volunteers and sports found growing of there own accord in existing and desserted orchards and so there are many apples that go by the catch?all name of Surprise.

notes: Small to medium sized fruit. Greenish yellow skin with cream white, red stained flesh. Used by Albert Etter in his developement of Pink Pearl. Ripens in October. Etter was fascinated with novelty and sought out exotic
