identification: Large and round.. The base colour is greenish yellow, washed deep red with darker stripes on the sun exposed face and marked with russet lenticels which are most visible on the sun exposed face. The eye is medium size and open, set in a shallow and somewhat narrow basin, surrounded by a knobbed crown. The stem is short and medium thickness, set in a deep and narrow cavity which is russeted, with rays extending onto the shoulder.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish,firm. Very tart.
uses: Fresh eating and cooking. Makes a sweet?tart, flavourful sauce.
