identification: Small, round though sometimes flattened on one side. The skin base colour is yellow covered with a greyish russet. The stem is short and slender, and set in a narrow cavity which often has a fleshy swelling to one side of it.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, firm crisp and tender. Juicy, very sweet, and very aromatic. Keeps up to three months in cold storage.

origins: Found growing in the Castle Ditches garden of Andrew Siely of Norwich (UK). Named Pride of the Ditches by him.
cultivation: Weak grower.
