identification: Large, round and sometimes slightly conic. The base colour is yellowish, but this is usually completely washed with deep maroon fading to bright red. The eye is small and closed, set in a recessed and open basin. The stem is moderately long and slender, set in a moderately deep and funnel shaped, russeted cavity. The surface is scattered with light coloured spots.
characteristics: The flesh is white with pink stain next to the skin. Soft, sweet, juicy and perfumed.
