identification: Small, round and heavily ribbed. The skin base colour is yellow, flushed red over more than half the surface. The stem is long and slender, set in a medium deep cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is greenish and very firm. Juicy, slightly tart and astringent. Keeps about a month in cold storage.
uses: Used for gelly, canning and cider.
