identification: Medium size, ribbed and knobbed at the crown. The base colour is greenish yellow, over which is a blush which can range from pale brown to purple covering 30 to 60 per cent of the surface. Russet lenticels tend to be slightly rough and the skin develops a greasy feel at maturity. The stem is very short and slender, set in a narrow cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, fine grained, firm, crunchy. Juicy and sweet?tart with a distinct aroma.
uses: used for commercial juice production.
origins: Developed by the Institut f r Obstforschung Dresden? Pillnitz (Germany) by crossing Clivia with pollen from 13 944,2(a scab resistant seedling of in 1996, it is one of 17 Re?cultivars (known as ReZista in N America) developed as part of this programme.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous, spreading tree. Precocious. Produces heavy crops on an annual basis.
cold storage: Up to four months. Needs to rest a few weeks in storage before developing its full flavours.
harvest: Over a three week span starting early in the fourth period.
