type: Juice
identification: Medium to large, round. Smooth skin, sometime marked with a light russeting. Yellow base colour is washed 70 per cent with a bright red.
characteristics: The flesh is ?????????, crunchy, coarse grained, and tart. When fully ripe, the sugar and acidity levels are quite high. Tree ripened fruit is sweet sharp and refreshing when eaten out of hand.
uses: Used for commercial juice production
origins: Developed by the Institut f r Obstforschung Dresden? Pillnitz (Germany) by crossing Undine with pollen from a sca resistant seedling of one of 17 Re?cultivars (known as ReZista in North America) developed as part of this programme.
cultivation: Vigorous. First fruit set is later than other cultivars from this breeding programme, but it does produce moderate to heavy harvests on a regular basis.
cold storage: Up to six months. Best flavours emerge after four weeks in storage.
