synonyms: Court?pendu de Tournay, Reinette d’Orleans
identification: Large, round flattened to round conic. The base colour is yellow washed matte red, striped and covered with a network of russet on the sun exposed face. The eye is large and ope, set in a wide and deep, slightly puckered basin. The stem is medium to small, stout and set in a somewhat deep and funnel shaped cavity which is surrounded by russet.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, firm. Juicy, sweet and fragrant.
origins: Seems to have originated in the Departements du Nord and de l Aisne (France)
cultivation: Moderately vigorous.
