Redstart
identification: Medium tending to small. Round to round conic. The base colour is green but this is almost completely washed red and marked with a pattern of closely spaced red strips. The eye is medium size, partly open with somewhat long petals, set in a medium depth, wide basin. The stem is short, medium thick and set in a medium deep and funnel shaped, lightly russeted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is white and stained pale red under the skin. Soft, Juicy, sweet sharp to sweet with a fruity flavour.
origins: NFCOriginated in about 1950 in an Oxford garden
cultivation: Moderately vigorous.
cold storage: Does not store well.
