summary: A colour mutation of Transparent.
identification: Medium size, round tending to oblate. The base colour is yellowish green, washed deep red with broad, darker striping on the sun exposed face and light coloured lenticels which are visible against the colour. The eye is large and partly open with long and narrow ????????????, set in a shallow and wide basin. The stem is medium long and medium thickness, set in a shallow and narrow, russeted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is greenish white and soft. Sharp when picked early, sweet sharp at maturity.
origins: National Fruit Collection lists it as "Thought to have originated in Russia. Recorded in 1872."
cultivation: The apples tend to be undersize unless the thinned at fruit set.
cold storage: Does not keep well.
