identification: Medium tending to large, round oblate. The skin base colour is pale yellow with red streaks and broken stripes predominantly on the sun exposed face. Large russet lenticels. The stem is short and slender, set in a round and deep cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is greenish, tender, brisk. Tender, very mild acidity. Keeps for two months in cold storage.
uses: A cooking apple also eaten fresh. Sometimes used to make juice and cider.
origins: pUSA, late 1700’s
