identification: Medium size, round-flattened. The base colour is straw yellow, washed dark red over three quarters of the surface, with darker streaks and pale lenticels. The skin surface becomes noticeably greasy as the apple ripens.
characteristics: The flesh is white with crimson stains close to the skin. Soft, sweet with a touch of tartness and aromatic. The stem is short and slender, set in a funnel shaped cavity. The calyx is small and closed, set in a somewhat rumpled, flat basin.
origins: Originated near St. Dominic in Cornwall's Tamar Valley (U.K.).
cold storage: Does not store well
harvest: Ready for harvest toward the end of the third period. A good indication of ripeness is that the apple falls from the tree of its own accord.
