identification: Medium size, round to oblate, ocassionally lopsided. Lightly ribbed.The stem is medium to long and slender (usually red) and set in a somewhat shallow and wide cavity. The skin base colour is green maturing to pale yellow, with red blush and stripes on the sun exposed face, usually with a thin bloom over the entire apple. The lenticels are sparse, white and blurred.
characteristics: The flesh is white, crisp, tender and fine textured. Very juicy, aromatic and slightly tart.
uses: Good for pies and tarts.
origins: L. Woolverton, Grimsby Ontario (Canada) 1875. Seedling of Fameuse.
cultivation: Hardy, vigorous upright spreading tree. Starts to bear fruit quite young. The yield is moderate and there is o a very slight difference in the production from one year to next. Ready for harvest in the first half of the first perio
