Peggy's Pride
identification: Small to medium. Round. The base colour is green flushed orange on the sun exposed face. The eye is moderately large and partly open, set in a wide and somewhat shallow, puckered basin. The stem is very long and slender, set in a deep and somewhat narrow, lightly russeted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is crsip juicy and mild.
origins: Allington Pippin x Golden Spire. This was one of 14 varieties developed by Eynsham, Oxfordshire (UK), apple breeder Frederick William Wastie (1857?1937).Received by the National Fruit Trials in 1944
