identification: Medium tending to large, round and slightly ribbed. The skin base colour is greenish-yellow over which is a red blush that covers most of the apple.
characteristics: The flesh is cream-coloured, crunchy. Very juicy and sweet with a sharp bite.
uses: Dessert, cooking juicing. Cider.
origins: Developed in 1962 at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada research station in St. Jean sur Richelieu, Quebec (Canada) and released in 1983. McIntosh crossed with 52-05-312 ( Red Melba , Wolf River and Carmine Crab ).
cultivation: Vigorous, upright spreading tree. Precocious and produces annually. Tolerates Hardiness Zone 3.
