identification: Medium tending to small size, round and angular from the base to the ridged crown. The skin is gloss and dark green with pearly lenticels. The stalk is long and slender set in a deep, narrow cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is greenish, firm and crisp, juicy and very tart. Keeps well in cold storage for up to six months.
uses: A cooking apple which was used for apple sauce in Victorian England.
ploidism: Self sterile.
