synonyms: White Stone Pippin, White Pippin. Also known as Stone Pippin but that synonym is also used for the Birmingham Pippin and the Cogar Pippin; as well, a North American cultivar uses Stone Pippin as its primary name.
identification: Small tending to medium, oblong with angular sides and some narrowing to the crown. The skin is pale yellowish green, sometime blushed red on the sun exposed face. The stalk is short, slender and set in a shallow cavity which frequently has a fleshy swelling to one side of it.
characteristics: The flesh is white, firm, sweet?tart. Keeps up to six months in cold storage.
uses: Cooking
cultivation: vigorous abundant annual bearer.
ploidism: Self sterile.
