characteristics: The flesh is white, soft and fine-grained. Juicy and sharp.
origins: Developed at Agriculture Canada’s Smithfield Experimental Farm in Trenton, Ontario (Canada), by crossing McIntosh with 52-05-26 (Red Melba x PRI 69-52). Tested as Ottawa 628 and released in 1978 as Murray.
cultivation: Moderately vigorous, spreading tree. Best suited for home garden and small hobby orchards.
cold storage: Keeps for up to two months.
vulnerabilities: Resistant to most diseases. Susceptible to quince rust.
harvest: Ready for harvest in the second half of the fourth period.
