summary: This variety so closely resembles the Sutton that the two are thought to be one and the same, just given different names as they were introduced in different region of the United States. S.A. Beach, author of "The Apples of New York, Volume I" (published 1903) suggests that the Sutton was promoted as Morris Red in nurseries in Michigan (U.S.A.) during the 1800s.
