identification: Large, conical with flattened base. The skin base colour is greenish yellow, streaked red on the sun exposed face. Large lenticels. The stem is short and stout, set in a shallow, thickly russeted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, tender, sweet and flavourful. Keeps up to two months in cold storage.
uses: Dessert also Used as a cooking apple.
origins: Devon, described 1851
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Biennial. Ready for harvest toward the end of the THIRD period.
