synonyms: Michinoko
identification: Large, round. Entirely washed deep red, somewhat plaler on the shaded surfaces. Abundent, light coloured lenticels. The eye is small and partly open. The stem is medium to long and somewhat slender set in a deep, funnel shaped cavity which is russeted with brownish rays extenting onto the shoulder.
characteristics: The flesh is ????????????, stained red under the skin and around the core. Crisp. Juicy, sweet, flavourful. Keeps one month in cold storage.
origins: Raised at the Aomori Apple Experiment Station, Aomori (Japan) by crossing Kitakami and Tsugaru. It was released in 1981.
cultivation: Ready for harvest in the first half of the THIRD period. Drops from the tree once ripe.
