Merton Pearmain
identification: Medium tending to large. Oblong. The base colour is yellow over which is a dull red wash which is marked with a pattern of fine red stripes. The eye is medium size and closed, set in a deep and narrow basin. The stem is short and moderately stout, set in a narrow and somewhat shallow basin.
characteristics: The flesh is cream coloured, firm. Juicy, sweet and aromatic. Keeps three months in cold storage.
