type: Dessert
identification: Large, round with angular sides, often irregular shape and lopsided. Greenish yellow covered 75 per cent or more with a glossy deep red wash marked with darker striping. The eye is small and partly open, set in a moderately deepa and somewhat wide basin.
characteristics: The flesh is greenish, coarse grained and firm. Sweet and fruity. Keeps two months in cold storage.

origins: Received by the National Fruit Trials in 1948 from France
cultivation: Vigorous, spreading. Ready for harvest toward the end of the FOURTH period.
