identification: Medium size. Oblong conic. The base colour is green over which is a maroon wash covering the sun exposed surfaces. Light coloured lenticels. The eye is small and tightly closed, set in a deep and narrow, ribbed basin. The stem is medium length and slender, set in a deep and narrow, russeted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is cream coloured, coarse?grained, soft. very sweet. Keeps three months in cold storage.
origins: — McIntosh x Forest,’ Ottario, Canada, introduced, 1932
cultivation: Moderately vigorous. Ready for harvest in the middle of the FOURTH period.
