identification: Medium tending to large size, round to round conic shape. Base colour is pale greenish yellow, washed crimson on the sun-exposed face. The stem is short and stout, set in a moderately deep and narrow, russetted cavity. The calyx is open and large, set in a deep and wide basin. Thick skinned and somewhat tough.
characteristics: The flesh is slightly yellowish, coarse-grained and tender. Moderately juicy and flavourful.
origins: An open pollinated seedling of Wealthy developed at the Central Experimental Farm in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada) in 1911.
cold storage: Keeps three months in cold storage.
harvest: Ready for harvest early in the fifth period.
notes: Resembles the Wealthy apple in appearance and flavour.
