identification: Medium size, round and flattened, sometimes conic. Ribbed on the sides, prominent ridges on the crown. Skin base colour is greenish yellow maturing to lemon yellow, usually with a brownish red blush on the sun exposed face. The eye is moderately large and partly open, set in a shallow, ribbed basin. The stem is short, medium thick and set in a deep and narrow, green?russeted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is white with greenish tinges, firm and tender. Juicy with a nutty flavour. Brisk. Keeps well fo months in storage.
uses: A heritage cooking apple which holds its shape when baked and makes a flavourful yellowish sauce.
