identification: Medium size, long conic and often irregular. Angular. The skin is glossy, lemon yellow which is blushed bright red on the sun exposed face with dark red stripes. The lenticels are russeted and there is a russet patch around the stalk cavity. The eye is msall and open set in a shallow and narrow basin surrounded by a knobbed crown The stem is medium long, medium stout and set in a very shallow and narrow cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is white, crisp and tender. Juicy and brisk with rich flavour. Lasts two months in storage.
uses: Prized as a dessert apple in Victorian England.
origins: Norfolk UK 1842 A chance seedling discovered growing at Attleborough Hall, 1948
cultivation: Moderately vigorous, upright spreading tree. Spur bearing. Ready for harvest at the end of the THIRD period.
