Liddel's Seedling
identification: Large and conic with pronounced angular faces and knobbed crown. The base colour is green maturing to yellow.The eye is large and partly open, irregular and set in a very shallow, small basin. The stem is very short, somewhat stout and set in a shallow, open basin.
characteristics: The flesh is creamy white but tends to turn brown as soon as it is cut. Quite tart when first picked but sweetens with time. Keeps two months in cold storage.
origins: Scotland
cultivation: Vigorous, upright spreading spur bearer. Ready for harvest starting in the middle of the SECOND period and continues for five or six weeks.
