Lady’s Finger of Lancaster

identification: Medium tending to small in size, conical, five sided with five distinct knobs at the apex, interspaced with five smaller knobs. The skin is yellow, flushed pale red on the sun exposed face. Small russet lenticels over most of the apple except on the sunny side where the lenticels are red. The stem is short, slender and set in a shallow basin which frequently has a fleshy swelling to one side.
characteristics: The flesh is yellowish, tender, juicy and tart.
uses: Cooking. Slices hold their shape and bake up with a rich flavour.
